The five-year tenure of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Jabalpur Municipal Corporation has ended on Tuesday. From Wednesday onwards, administrative rule would be imposed in the civic body. The State Government, late in the night on Tuesday, appointed Divisional Commissioner Ravindra Kumar Mishra as Administrator of JMC. On the last working day, Mayor Dr Swati Godbole held a courtesy meeting with senior officials to discuss the achievements of her tenure and appreciate their co-operation. Dr Godbole said she left no stone unturned for overall development of the city.
 
The Mayor said that she had fulfilled the promises she had taken at the time of oath-taking. In order to facilitate traffic system a number of left turns were developed at important squares. Likewise, multi-sports complex, convention center, ITMS, Open Theater along with many other notable works were done during her tenure. She said development of Sangram Sagar, Shahi Talab, Imarti Talab, Gulaua Talab, Ranital and Adhartal pond, beautification and development of Bhanvartal and other gardens, construction of Cultural Street, Convention Center, renovation of Manas Bhawan, Smart City Office, ITMS, immersion pool in Bhitauli, Open Theater to accommodate 2500 people in Bhituli, widening the road, Link roads were also done under her guidance.
 
Dr Godbole said from the year 2015-16 to 2019-20, apart from the above mentioned works, many other development works were also done which include construction of overhead tanks under AMRUT Yojana, construction of 16 new water tanks, BPT tank at Pishanhari Ki Madiya, laying of parallel water pipeline from Pisanhari Ki Madhiya to Ramangra, transportation of Narmada water from Umaria Canal to Ranjhi, shifting of bus stand to Deendayal Bus Terminal, provision of Rs 250 lakh to 5500 people under Pradhan Mantri Swanirman Yojana, rehabilitation of more than 3,000 people of Madan Mahal hill in Tilhari and other areas. Mayor Dr Godbole said she is heartily grateful to the citizens and public representatives for their invaluable received during her entire tenure.
