“Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is not a political organisation. This organisation is working on the principles of Hindurashtra which are eternal, all inclusive and give a chance to prosper in life. Shri Guruji Golwalkar, the second Sarsanghachalak was instrumental in nurturing and building this great organisation and infused the sense of patriotism in each person,” said, Sarkaryawah of RSS Suresh alias Bhaiyyaji Joshi on Wednesday. Joshi was addressing as an invited speaker to a function organised by Paschim Nagpur Navyuvak Mandal to pay tributes to Guruji Golwalkar on the occasion of his birth anniversary at Basketball ground in Pande Layout Khamla.
 
Shrinath Peethadhishwar of Shri Devnath Math, Shrikshetra Surji Anjangaon, Jitendranath Maharaj was the chief guest while businessman Vivek Naik was the guest of honour. Joshi mentioned, “RSS has been constantly working to make society alert. Educating the society, spreading awareness and making society alert about all evils are the main objectives of RSS. This is not politics but preparing the minds of individuals in society to respect nation.” The programme was co-sponsored by The Southern Nagpur Co-operative Housing Society and Khamla Plot Holders Co-operative Society.
 
The book ‘Shri Guruji Kaal Sangat-Kaalatit’, a Marathi translation of S Gurumurti’s book by Arun Karmarkar from Thane was released at the hands of Bhaiyyaji Joshi. On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, the programme was started with the aarti of Shivaji Maharaj. Paying tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Guruji Golwalkar, Bhaiyyaji Joshi said, “Shivaji Maharaj and Shri Guruji were the great men. Both of them worked for preserving the identity and dignity of Hindu in this great nation.” “Guruji was a great scholar, wide and well read. He could talk on any subject with effective participation. His memory was very remarkable. He was a man with vision a person who could look into the future and prepare his followers. For instance, he gave a very early warning of Chinese invasion of India (1962) and was the first person to do so boldly.
 
He was a great soul of spirituality. He could have worked for his own salvation (Moksha). Instead he devoted himself to the service of Society,” said Joshi. Bhayyaji also shared number of anecdotes from the life of Shri Guruji with the audience. Jitendranath Maharaj termed Shri Guruji as a great visionary and saint of modern times who striven to protect the eternal universal values for the welfare of mankind. Toshita Murugkar conducted the proceedings. Ravindra Sahasrabuddhe made introductory remarks and also proposed a vote of thanks. Abhay Naik presented Vaiyaktik Geet and Dr Rasika Deshpande recited Pasaydan.
