Gittikhadan Police have detained a minor boy, previously involved in various cases of vehicle theft and house-breaking thefts, and recovered three two-wheelers stolen by him. The boy told the cops that he learned the tricks of breaking handle-locks of two-wheelers from YouTube and stole the vehicles. It all started with a case of motorcycle theft reported on December 16, 2019. Ravindra Bhimrao Dongre (22), a resident of Shirpur Bhuyari, post Dhamna, in Nagpur Rural tehsil, had parked his KTM motorcycle (MH-31/BP-24871) worth Rs 1.50 lakh near Tejas School in Dabha. An unidentified person stole his motorcycle from the parking lot. Around a month later, during patrolling in Dabha area, Detection Branch (DB) squad found a minor boy moving in a suspicious manner.
 
On further enquiry, the cops found that the boy was a juvenile delinquent previously involved in various cases of vehicle theft and house-breaking thefts. On Wednesday, the juvenile admitted to three two-wheeler thefts. One was of the KTM motorcycle, which he had stolen, used for a few days, and then abandoned near Chinche Hospital at Katol. Another was of a Honda Activa scooterette (MH-31/EX-3064), which he had stolen from a spot near Gorewada lake and abandoned at an isolated place. The third theft he admitted to have committed was of a Pulsar-220 motorcycle, which he had stolen from Wadi area. The cops recovered all three stolen vehicles.
 
The juvenile delinquent told the cops that he had learnt tricks of breaking handle-locks of two-wheelers from YouTube. He used to steal a two-wheeler after breaking their handle-locks, use the stolen vehicle to go places with his girlfriend, and then abandone the vehicles at some or the other isolated places. The case was cracked under the guidance of Vinita Shahu, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-II), and Bhaware, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sadar Division; by Sunil Gangurde, Senior Police Inspector; Sajid Ahmed, Police Sub-Inspector; Yuvraj Dhole, Police Constable; Santosh Upadhyay, Naik Police Constable; Imran Sheikh, Santosh Shendre, and Ashish Bawankar.
