Marriage gardens without licence will not be allowed to operate in the State and the violators will be penalised, said Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Vandana Sharma. She made the above statement while addressing a meeting of BMC officials at the Collectorate on Thursday. It is mandatory for the marriage gardens to get a license issued from Bhopal Municipal Corporation, Sharma added. A fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed on the owners of those marriage gardens, who do not follow the guidelines issued for the marriage gardens.
 
Also, a provision has been made to fine the marriage gardens with Rs 15,000 if garbage is found after a party ends at the garden. The ADM added inquiry would be held against the marriage gardens which have not been issued a license yet and also. She also instructed the sub-divisional magistrates to seal the marriage gardens, found with irregularity and those having no license. Earlier, BMC had also warned the marriage gardens saying if they fail to submit the required documents for registration, they would be declared illegal and action would be taken against the owners.
 
Notably, according to the order issued, the MP Government had decided to adopt the municipal corporation, Ujjain by-laws regarding marriage gardens. Rules for marriage gardens * To get a license issued from BMC, the marriage garden, the road must be at least a 40-feet wide. * The 25% area of the marriage area should be allotted to parking and 4 guards must be deployed to keep an eye on the parking arrangements. * Ban on DJs and loudspeakers from 10 pm to 8 am. *
 
Will have to pay Rs 2,000 to Rs 8,000 to get a NOC for fire brigade. * Mandatory water harvesting system on the premises of the marriage garden. * Annual fee of Rs 3500 to Rs 15,000 will be charged for getting the license of the marriage garden.
