City is gearing to celebrate Mahashivratri festival with religious fervour on February 21 and 22. Elaborate arrangements have been made in Shiva temples spread across the city to celebrate Mahashivratri. Sanatan Sanstha The organisation spreading scientific knowledge about deity Shiva will display three different stalls of spiritual literature at three different places in city on February 21. One stall will be displayed at Kalyaneshwar temple, Telangkhedi from 7.30 am to 10 pm, another stall will be displayed at Shri Shiv Mandir, H B Estate Sonegaon from 7.30 am to 10 pm and the third stall will be available at Shri Shiv Mandir, Kachore, Pawanbhumi, Somalwadi from 9 am to 8 pm. A press release issued by Sanstha has said, “Principle of deity Shiva is active 1,000 times on Mahashivratri.
 
The more we worship Shiva on this day, higher benefit is accrued on spiritual level by the worshiper from Shiva. Common people are not aware of the science of Dharma underlying every ritual in the worship. On the occasion of Mahashivratri, Sanstha will be setting up stalls of Holy texts in several states across the country. The holy texts contain unique knowledge of characteristic features of Shiva, how to worship Shiva, importance of offering bel on Shiva pindi, importance of Rudraksha etc. will be available on these stalls.” Dada Dham ‘Mahashivratri’ will be celebrated at Dada Dham on Friday.
 
Only at Dada Dham, stated a press release, one can have ‘darshan’ of Lord Shiva’s crystal Shivling, which was consecrated at the hands of Jagadguru Shankaracharya. Crystal Shivlings are known variously as ‘Sphatika-mani’, ‘Ashutosh’, ‘Jyotirmayee’, ‘Bam bhole’ etc. On ‘Shivratri’ day, morning worship starts at 9 am with ‘Abhishek’, ‘vastra-alankar’, ‘pujan’, and ‘aarti’. ‘Bhajans’ and name-chants continue afterwards till 11 pm. Dada Dham hall keeps reverberating with sound of ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ and ‘Om Namah Shivaay’. Narendra Dada, Dada Dham chief, has appealed to the devotees to visit Dada Dham on Mahashivratri’ day, stated a press release. Vishwa Jagruti Mission Under the aegis of Nagpur mandal of Vishwa Jagruti Mission, religious programmes like pujan and fair has been organised at Divya Nirmal Dham Ashram, Surabardi on Amravati Road from February 21.
 
On Shiv Shikhar, Acharya Shivdatta Maharaj will conduct rituals of Rudrabhishek to 12 Jyotirlinga followed by Mahaaarti on February 21 right from the morning. In night, a Kapur Yadnya will be held and all Jyotirlinga will be decorated with flowers. Aarti and distribution of Prasad will be held on February 22 in the morning. Munda Mahadev Mandir The religious programmes will start with Rudrabhishek of Bhagwan Shiv on February 21 from morning. The decoration of Shiva’s Shej will be done and distribution of fruits will be held throughout the day. A grand procession of Shivji Ki Baarat will be held in the evening at 5 pm and will pass through Sitabuldi, Lohapul and reach at Munda Dewal Mandir.
 
Live floats will participate in the procession. Distribution of Mahaprasad will be held on February 22 in the evening. Shri Kalgidhar Satsang Mandal Religious programmes will be held at the premises of mandal in Jaripatka on February 21. The programmes will start with the reading of Shri Japuji Sahib and Shri Sukhmani Sahib at 6 am, followed by discourses by Adv Madhavdas Mamtani on Shri Shiv Avatar explained in dasam granth of Guru Govind Singh. Shri Siddha Hanuman Mandir The seven day festival to mark Mahashivratri was started from Thursday at the premises of Shri Siddha Hanuman Mandir, Ajni Railway Colony. The discourses by Sant Shri Ramdasji Maharaj from Vrindavan have been started with a grand shobhayatra.
 
The discourses on Shiv Mahapuran and Mahashivratri festival have been organised under the aegis of Rathore Bahuuddeshiya Sanstha in the memory of late Puttusingh. The shobhayatra to mark the Shiv Mahapuran Katha was started after pujan at 10 am. The discourses will continue daily at 3 pm and rudrabhishek will be held daily from 9 am to 11 am. Sanstha president, Sanjay Singh Rathore, Mitthu Singh Rathore, Rajendra Singh Rathore, Rajkishore Rathore, Vijendra Singh Rathore and others have appealed the devotees to attend the festival. Shri Shiv Shankar Devasthan Mahashivratri festival will be celebrated with religious fervour on February 21 at the premises in Khasarmari.
 
The programmes will start with Laghurudra Abhishek Pooja and aarti at the hands of former MLA Sudhakar Kohale from 7 am to 9 am. Darshan and blood donation camp with the help of Jeevan Jyoti Blood Bank will be held from 11 am. Devasthan will distribute tea, sharbat, Sabudana Khichadi and other fruits. Bhajan Sandhya will start from 12 noon. Ashok Banait, Damo-dhar Kachore, Sanjay Vaira-gade, Vasant Banait, Suresh Bhandarkar, Ajay Banait, Suresh Tanwe, Narayan Thakre, Vivek Banait, Maroti Karwatkar, Anil Gawande, Vijay Ghule and others appealed devotees to attend the events in large numbers.
