2 killed, one seriously injured as truck, car collide head-on

RECKLESS driving killed two men and left another seriously injured near Amjhar valley after a truck (MP 20 GA 8999) collided head on with a car going towards Jabalpur under Khamaria police station on Thursday night.
The car was badly damaged in the mishap. According to information, two people died on the spot while another sustained serious injuries after a car collided head on with a truck. The car was carrying three people. The driver and another person sitting next to the driver died on the spot, while another on the back sustained serious injuries.
The incident was reported to police by Shushant Bari (20), a resident from Vikatganj Kotwali, Umaria, who was in another car behind the ill-fated car. In his complaint he said that he along with his friend Rahul were in a car while his uncle’s three sons including Vinay Bari, Umesh Pavel and Veerendra Rajak were in another car. They were heading towards Jabalpur to attend a marriage function. While passing through Amjhar valley in front of Crusher unit a recklessly driven truck collided head-on with the car (MP 17 CA 5798) ahead of them driven by Veerendra Rajak. Due to high speed of the vehicles both collided head on, as the car was wedged with the truck. The truck driver abandoned the truck and managed to flee from the spot. The complainant with the help of his friend Rahul rescued the three trapped inside the car. On being informed, Ambulance 108 reached the spot and the three were rushed to Medical College and Hospital. At casualty, doctors who examined the three injured declared Umesh Pavel and Veerendra Rajak brought dead. Vinay Bari having sustained serious multiple injuries was taken to city hospital for intensive treatment. After the death was confirmed, cops carried out investigations made panchnama and sent the body for autopsy. At the time of panchnama the two deceased were identified as Umesh Pavel (24), a resident from Vikatganj Kotwali Umaria and Veerendra Rajak (28), a resident of PTS Colony, Umaria. A case under sections 297, 337, 304 A of the IPC has been registered as massive search has been started to apprehend the absconding truck driver. The truck discarded by the driver has been seized by the police and has been stationed at Khamaria police station as further investigations are underway.
