The pair of tiger cubs, including a tiger and tigress, reached Van Vihar from Bandhavgarh National Park during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Van Vihar officials have put them into quarantine. During morning hours of Thursday, Van Vihar Director Kamlika Mohanta and Deputy Director A K Jain reached Van Vihar to see the new pair of tiger cubs. Astonishingly, both big cats have developed a bond with their caretaker in a short span of time.

Both of them followed the instructions of caretaker. Barring the signs of fatigue, both are looking comfortable in their new accommodation. Both cubs are showing normal behaviour. Kamlika Mohanta informed that pair of cubs have taken birth from same tigress. Both of them are in the age of group of two years, six month and look beautiful. Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve management have spotted both of them near a prey in 2017. Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve management kept close eye on them for two days but tigress (mother) have not come to take them back.

Later, both canines were taken under care and milk was given to them. Afterwards, they were given meat of different animals. In enclosure, both of them learnt the skill of killing prey and eating it. When both of them reached in the age of one year four months, they were shifted to Baheraha based enclosure. Before releasing them in wild, specialist squad studied their behaviour. As they have grown up in presence of humans, hence, they have become accustomed to humans. The specialist squad had proposed to send them into Van Vihar enclosure and it was on the basis of this proposal that both tiger cubs have been brought to Van Vihar.
