Raipur Police is waiting for an untoward incident to happen as officials of Azad Chowk police station are turning blind eye to back-to-back incidents of arson witnessed in Mominpara locality reportedly as fallout of stabbing incident between two groups. According to information received, early on Sunday morning, unidentified miscreants set a four-wheeler into fire at Mominpara locality.
 
Azad Chowk Station House Officer (SHO) K K bajpai, however, stated that the vehicle was parked near garbage dump and engulfed in the fire that broke out accidently, whereas unconfirmed sources claimed the series of incidents as fall out of knifing. Sources averred that lackadaisical approach of Kotwali and Azad Chowk Police led to knifing between two groups followed by two incidents of arson. Unconfirmed sources, however, claimed that Abid Hassan’s involvement in the incident, while police denied his involvement and termed the knifing incident as fallout of old enmity. Moreover, police also denied involvement of cricket betting’s money transaction in knifing incident.
 
Although, police officials claimed that there is no gang-war like situation in the state capital, a telephonic conversation involving one of the accused circulating in media Whatapps groups hints that everything is not fine. Notably, stabbing incident leaving around three youths critically injured recently took place between two groups at Mominpara locality over alleged dispute of cricket betting’s money transaction. The incident took place when Abdul Gani called Mohammad Sehnawaz to reach Mominpara where already three accomplices of the former namely Imran, Sayed Dastagir and Jaman Irani were present.
 
Hereafter, when Mohammad Sehnawaz accompanied with Sheikh Hafiz reached the designated place, a heated verbal duel broke out between him and Gani. Eventually, the heated exchange turned ugly after which they exchange fatal blows of knives leaving three injured. Gole Bazaar Police have reportedly rounded-up Abid Hassan for his alleged involvement in the incident but released later. Abid Hassan was arrested by Gole Bazaar police later on the day and he was sent to judicial custody, said police sources.
