Fire at Ravindra Bhawan lawns on Sunday evening.

A Fire broke out at the lawns of Ravindra Bhawan located near Polytechnic Square where Gond Art paintings were displayed during five-day festival of ‘Lokrang’. The incident took place while removing tenets erected for Lokrang fest. Timely intervention of fire tenders present at Ravindra Bhawan doused the flames before it could spread further and averted a major mishap on Sunday evening.
Short circuit is said to be the cause of the fire that broke out as a fireman present at the spot said that electric sparks led to the fire. The tent made of plastic and curtains caught fire that started spreading in the entire dome. However, the fire tenders present in the premises immediately came to the rescue and controlled the fire before it could spread further.
Alert staff members of Ravindra Bhawan immediately cut power connection and helped in dousing the fire. If the incident had gone unnoticed or if the same had occurred at late night, then, it would have been a major tragedy.
