A four-month-old foetus was found dead in a drain near a private clinic, Bagsewania Bazar under Bagsewania police station on Thursday. Police recovered the foetus and sent for post-mortem examination. Dr Ashok Singh Thakur runs a clinic in the locality informed the police when he noticed it after locals brought the matter into his notice. Locals spotted the foetus in the drain near public urinal. Police were immediately called and pronounced the foetus dead shortly after.
 
As per the Bagsewania police, foetus was discovered in a drain near public urinal at Bagsewania market area on Thursday morning. Doctor, who runs Vikas Medical Clinic on main road near Sulabh Complex, informed the police, when he spotted foetus in drain at time of opening the clinic. Police team immediately rushed there and recovered it and sent for post-mortem. It was dead as it was dumped in night or early in the morning. Since the foetus is four-month-old it was difficult to know about its sex.
 
“The locals pointed me about the foetus, when I opened my clinic at 10 am. I informed the police. It was just a foetus. Police team immediately came here and took it into possession; Dr Ashok Singh said adding that it created sensation in the locality. Someone might have dumped it night in drain, at public urinal (Sulabh Complex). SHO of Bagsewania Shailendra Sharma said, “As it was four-months-old, police are also unable to answer about its sex as of now. This is going to be a sensitive case. Was it a miscarriage or was it a baby which has been deliberately abandoned as mother doesn’t want to get it delivered would be known in further investigation.”
