The Corps of Signals Contingent led by Captain Tania Shergill, after a splendid performance in Army Day and Republic Day Parade in New Delhi were accorded a rousing welcome on their arrival at Jabalpur Railway Station on Friday.
Brigadier Rajiv Singh, Commandant, 1 Signal Training Centre welcomed Captain Tania Shergill and the contingent by presenting a bouquet and congratulated them for their prestigious achievements.
The Corps of Signals Contingent has won trophies for ‘Best Marching Contingent’ and ‘Living Area Competition’ during Republic Day parade. The welcome ceremony was followed by a grand victory parade organised from Jabalpur Railway Station to Gauri Shankar parade ground of 1 STC in honour of the Champion Contingent.
The Contingent comprising 03 x officers, 14 x JCOs and 220 x other ranks were also welcomed by the team of officers and JCOs and others ranks of 1 STC. Brigadier Rajiv Singh lead the victory parade in order to honour the hardwork and remarkable achievement of the Contingent and to inculcate the spirit of camaraderie and esprit-de-Corps. The victory parade passed through civil and Cantonment areas from Railway Station, Reliance Junction, Mall Road and further in Cantonment areas of 1 STC. It was a moment of pride for people of Jabalpur to associate themselves with the Champions Contingent being trained in their city.
