“Everyone should respect the dignity of others like his. It is our responsibility to protect right to equality provided among citizens in the Constitution. Magsaysay Awardee and National Convener of the Safai Karmachari Andolan Bezwada Wilson said this while expressing his views on the ‘Narratives and Challenges Including the Excluded’ at a lecture series ‘Effective Change-Sustainable Results’ at the Atal Behari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis.
Wilson said how we can ask others to do the work which we cannot do. After all, they are also human beings. He said that, my goal is to end the practise of manual scavenging. He gave detailed information about the works being carried out in this direction. He said that wherever we are and whatever position we are on, we have to pay attention on how we are discharging our duties. There is a need for collective efforts to remove social evils. The Director General of the institute, Parshuram said that, it is necessary to think about what is happening, why it is happening and why it is not happening in the society. He said that social, political and economic changes are complementary to each other. If one of these lags behind, then there is no overall development. The Principal Advisor of the institute M M Upadhyay, Mangesh Tyagi, Girish Sharma and the entire staff of the institute were present on the occasion.
