LEADER of Opposition Gopal Bhargava and Chief Whip Dr Narottam Mishra met Governor Lalji Tandon and requested him to change the procedure for floor test on Sunday. Both of them said that floor test by pressing button is not possible in Madhya Pradesh Assembly as necessary technology is not available. They requested the Governor that instead of voting by pressing the button, voting should be done by raising hands. Notably, a BJP delegation had met the Governor on Saturday and demanded that floor test of State Government should be held on Monday itself as after resignation of 22 MLAs, the Congress Government has run into minority.

Soon, the Governor had issued orders to the State Government past midnight on Saturday that floor test should be held in the Assembly soon after his speech on Monday. He said voting will be held by pressing the button. More or less, situation on floor test remains complex as Congress is telling that floor test could be held only by consent of Assembly Speaker and now everyone is curious to know what will be the decision of Assembly Speaker in this regard on Monday.

Out of 230 Assembly members, two members have passed away. This has reduced the strength of Assembly to 228. On Saturday, Speaker had accepted resignations of six MLAs. In this situation, total strength of the house has come down to 222.
