Nominations of Scindia, Sumer Singh found valid

The nomination forms of Congress party’s Rajya Sabha candidates including Digvijay Singh, Phol Singh Baraiya and BJP’s Rajya Sabha Candidate Ranjana Bhagel were found to be valid and accepted. The scrutiny of nomination papers was done on Monday. The nomination papers of Independent candidate Ramdas Dahiwale was found invalid and was rejected.
 
In the meantime, hearing on objections regarding to BJP Rajya Sabha candidates Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sumer Singh Solanki was done on Tuesday. Both sides were heard and objections were rejected. Therefore, nomination papers of Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sumer Singh Solanki were accepted. Notably, Digvijay Singh has reportedly registered objection on the nomination form filled by Jyotiraditya Scindia by alleging that Scindia omitted case related information.
 
The name of withdrawal of nomination is March 18. If necessary then election will be held on March 26. Notably, three Rajya Sabha seats of Madhya Pradesh have fallen vacant as tenure of Prabhat Jha, Digvijay Singh and Satyanarayan Jatia is going to end in April. To fill these three seats, election process is underway.
