Cooperate in implementing ‘Janta Curfew’: Governor to citizens

Governor Anusuiya Uikey has appealed citizens to cooperate in implementing the ‘Janta Curfew’ called on by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 22. Governor Uikey appealed people to take utmost precautions and awareness to prevent the infection. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on people to observe Janta Curfew, self-imposed isolation, from 7 am to 9 pm as preventive measures against the Coronavirus infection. Besides, the people have also been appealed to come out of home at 5 pm to show gesture of appreciation towards medical personnel, government officers/employees, security forces, media persons, and social workers by applause or ringing bells so as to boost their morale.
 
Governor stated that the COVID-19 has become a worldwide pandemic and gripped some nations. Citizens must make sure the conditions don’t get worse in our nation. Hence, people should take necessary precautions such as avoiding crowded areas. Maintain cleanliness in around their homes and wash hands with soap repeatedly. Always cover mouth and nose while sneezing and coughing. Use the Bharatiya way of greeting ‘Namaste’ instead of handshake when meeting someone.
 
Maintain safe distance from each other. If they see symptoms of COVID-19 in any person then report the authorities at Health Department, get them medically examined and stay alert. Avoid going hospitals for routine check-up and postpone surgery if it is not absolutely necessary.
