Coronavirus suspect returned from USA admitted to JP Hospital’s isolation ward

A coronavirus suspect, who returned from USA, was admitted to the isolation ward by the district administration at the JP Hospital on Saturday. The suspect along with his wife was residing at a colony on J K Road from past two days, who lives in Delhi. Both reached Bhopal recently. The nearby residents informed the district administration and a team of health officials, led by Sub Divisional Magistrate Manoj Verma reached the spot. The suspected patient was taken to JP Hospital and admitted to the isolation ward by the hospital administration.
 
The hospital administration denied giving any statement when ‘The Hitavada’ tried to contact. Till date, 1,159 travellers from coronavirus affected countries have been identified at and 663 are under home isolation and 403 have completed their observation period. As many as 57 samples were sent to NIV Pune, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College Nagpur, AIIMS Bhopal and NIRTH Jabalpur for testing out of which 4 have been tested positive while 43 samples are negative. The test reports of 10 samples are awaited. Mask, sanitiser price fixed: The Department of Consumer Affairs issued orders on Saturday, to fix the price of masks and sanitisers, as they have now been added to the essential commodities.
 
The order stated that the retail price of masks (3ply surgical mask) should not be more than Rs 10 per piece and price of 2ply mask should not be more than Rs 8 per piece. The retail price of sanitiser should not exceed more than Rs 100 per bottle of 200ml and the price of other quantities of hand santisers should be fixed in the proportion of these prices. Team collects 7 samples across city: A team of the health officials was formed at the JP Hospital, which collected SWAB samples of coronavirus suspected patients from across the city. Notably, the passengers who reached Bhopal after travelling abroad are being identified at the airport and the airport authorities inform the team.
 
The team then reaches the address provided by the airport authorities to take the sample of the suspected person. A member of the team told ‘The Hitavada’ that they had collected seven samples on Saturday. FDA shuts hotels, restaurants, dhabas: A team of Food and Drugs Administration patrolled the city and closed all the restaurants, dhabas, hotels and other eateries to avoid any spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. The team led by Chief Food Safety Officer D K Verma reached the highway to shutdown the restaurants being operated there and also to other areas of the city including Bairagarh, MP Nagar, New Market, Sehore bypass.
