Following the orders of the District Magistrate (DM), the Durg Police on Tuesday sealed inter-district borders and placed stoppers in over dozen of points from where the Durg district shares border with other districts. Except for the movement of essential goods and services, the borders were completely sealed. Adequate number of police personnel from the respective police station as well as from police line have been deployed in around 15 such points from where no one is allowed to enter the Durg district. It is worth mentioning that the Durg district shares its border with various other districts and following the orders of the DM, the Durg Police sealed the borders from Tuesday morning.
 
Areas falling under different police stations including Anda, Bori, Dhamdha, Nandini, Amleshwar, Patan, Ranitarai and Kumhari which shares the border with other districts were sealed. The sealed points included Anjora bypass, near Anda Police Station, in front of Litiya outpost, near Jalbandha road, near Berla road, near Mahadev Ghat, near Tarrighat, near Jamgaon (R) and Toll Plaza at Kumhari. Police sources said that stoppers have been placed in 15 such points and police personnel have been deployed to ensure no one enters the district except those allowed under movement of essential goods and services.
 
The policemen deployed on such points included personnel from the respective police station and those sent from police line as well and they have been assigned duty on shift basis. Meanwhile, around 44 police parties are patrolling in the district to ensure that the lockdown is followed and no one roams unnecessarily on the road. Checking on major intersections is also done by the police. When contacted ASP (Rural) Lakhan Patle confirmed the sealing of borders and stated that the people have been appealed to follow the precautionary measures to contain and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
