BALOD, Two police personnel were injured when a group of vegetable vendors attacked them with sharp object when the police personnel asked them to close their shops, at Daupara chowk under Arjuni police limits, on Thursday afternoon. In this matter, police arrested 6 people including an army jawan. The two police constables have been admitted in Community Health Centre, Arjuni and their condition is stable. The injured police personnel were identified as Head Constable Vikas Rajput and Constable Kamlesh Rawtey. Both the police personnel are posted in Arjuni police station.
 
As per information of Deputy Superintendent of Police Dinesh Sinha, the two police personnel were asking the vegetable sellers to close their shops as they are ordered to close it by 12 pm. When the policemen asked to close the shops, the vendors got engaged into an argument with the policemen and the argument turned hot. A Sonkar family who are vegetable vendors in a fit of rage attacked the police personnel with sharp objects. In the attack police personnel got seriously injured and were rushed to nearest Community Health Centre for treatment.
 
Police had arrested 6 persons and they are being interrogated. A case will be registered against the culprits under relevant sections. Refuting all allegation, one of the arrested vegetable vendor Surat Sonkar said that the police constable thrashed their elder sister without any reason, which enraged his brother Eshu Sonkar, who is an army jawan and had come home for holidays and after this they attacked the police personnel.
