Governor updates President about status of coronavirus

Governor Lalji Tandon apprised the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind about the prevailing condition of coronavirus in the State and about the medical arrangements along with measures being taken to control the pandemic, through video-conferencing on Friday. The President, Vice President and Governor were reviewing the action being taken to control the corona threat at national through a video-conference from their respective residences. He said that the citizens of the State are co-operating by following the suggestions given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to protect against corona. Negligent people are also being controlled when needed.
Governor Tandon informed that all the district collectors of the state have been given permission to act on their own level as per the time and situation. Along with the government, Red Cross and other religious and voluntary organisations are also arranging medicines, food etc. at their respective levels. The Government has taken initiative to provide medical facilities there by acquiring closed hospitals.
The Governor while discussing about corona said that this tragic situation has arisen due to those coming from outside (abroad). Its outbreak is more in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh.
One or two cases have been reported in the remaining districts.
Two people have died due to corona in Madhya Pradesh, including an elderly woman and a youth, in Ujjain district.
In the video conferencing, the President thanked the service personnel engaged in dealing with the corona conflict in all the states. He appealed to all the citizens of the country to maintain patience, restraint and co-operation in this hour of crisis.
