‘Will ensure uninterrupted supply of essential items’

AS THE country is witnessing lockdown, the traders should take extra care to provide essential commodities to the needy citizens. If there are any delays in getting supplies of essential items, traders can approach the local officials to sort things out. The Government will ensure uninterrupted supply of essential items. This was disclosed by Nitin Raut, Guardian Minister of Nagpur, while speaking to traders and local Government officials via phone at a meeting called by Ravindra Thakre, District Collector of Nagpur on Saturday. Representatives of the various trade bodies like kirana merchants, oil merchants, food grain merchants were present at the meeting.
 
“Accordingly, traders must serve the society with humanitarian approach. They must not resort to profiteering and take advantage of shortage of supplies to charge exorbitant prices. There must be fixed price of each item,” he further said. “If any traders truck load is stopped at any border or check point they can call me on my help line number 0712-2562668, Thakre said. He assured the traders that all necessary support will be given through the help line number.
 
Thakre also said, “If any trader wants to despatch goods to any part of the country, he may contact Kumbhare on mobile number 9422181011. Our office will provide the required permission and pass from RTO too. Pratap Motwani, Secretary of The Wholesale Grain and Seeds Merchants Association informed The Hitavada that the Collector, assured the traders to give his full support. Motwani also informed that the local transport of goods and necessities within the district will also be started.
 
He also informed that the Government will be distributing 50,000 packets of food grain and other items to the needy people. Present were Asha Pathan, from Collector office; Nerkar from APMC Kalamna; Santosh Kumar Agrawal, President of Grain Market; Pawan Poddar, Joint Secretary; Dilip Shah, Ramdas Wajani, Rajubhai Thakkar, Shiv Pratap Singh, Parmanand Motiyani, Hajarilal Nagpal, Bharatbhai Thakkar, Sanjay Suchak and other Government officials.
