Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel instructed officials to make immediate arrangements for 100-bedded hospitals for coronavirus infected patients in all districts apart from making similar arrangements in all six medical colleges in State. While reviewing the arrangements and preparations initiated towards control and prevention of Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection at a high level meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed the arrangements for uninterrupted supply of essential commodities during lockdown period. He also sought information about availability of kits for testing Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) infection in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur and Medical College, Jagdalpur.
 
The Chief Minister directed the officials to make arrangements of additional 100-beds in every district as well as in all six medical colleges in State for treatment of corona infected patients. The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey and School Education Minister Dr Prem Sai Singh Tekam along with ACS Subrat Sahoo, Principal Secretary Dr Maninder Kaur Dwivedi, Secretary (Health) Niharika Barik Singh, Secretary (Social Welfare) R Prasanna, Secretary (Food and Transport) Dr Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary (Urban Administration) Alarmelmangai D, Secretary (Mining) Anbalgan P, MARKFED MD Shammi Abidi, Director National Health Mission Dr Priyanka Shukla, Director Health Services Neeraj Bansod and Commissioner Public Relations Taran Prakash Sinha.
 
The Chief Minister is in regular contact with all district collectors and regularly holding meeting with officials and issuing necessary directives. Also necessary initiatives are being taken towards combating COVID-19 apart from taking measures to ensure that poor and weaker sections of society doesn’t face any problem during lockdown. During the meeting it was informed that the state government has taken over Raipur Institute of Medical Science, Bhansoj Road, Godhi in Raipur and is in the process of being converted into specialised COVID-19 hospital having 500-bed facility. The hospital will be functioning within next 10 days. During the meeting the Chief Minister said that those people who have traveled to other states from Chhattisgarh, they have been asked to remain there and all necessary arrangements are being made for them through respective district collectors.
 
Similarly, people from other states who have come to Chhattisgarh have also been asked to remain here and similar facilities being extended to them as well. The Chief Minister instructed to ensure proper supply of essential commodities, vegetables, fruits, milk and other food items. He also instructed that farm workers and farmers shouldn’t be stopped from working in their fields as wheat is being harvested while other Rabi crops are in cultivation stage. However, farmers and farm labourers should ensure social distancing while working and they should be explained about its significance. He also instructed that farmers should be allowed to transport vegetables and fruits to the market or else the prices of these commodities would go up. He also instructed to ensure supply of commodities like sugar, wheat flour and gram flour, etc
