As the world is fighting battle against Corona virus, people all over are leaving no stone upturned to prevent the virus. While the authorities have declared lockdown, people have been following social distancing. Besides, vigilant citizens, organisations and institutions are implementing measures like sanitization and fumigation among others at their respective places to stay safe.
However, experts in the field told The Hitavada that due to lack of awareness among the masses, people are being exposed to inappropriate methods of sanitization and fumigation which might prove fatal for human beings. Highlighting the importance of theses methods in the current scenario, Rajiv Sen, Proprietor of R S Maintenance Services & Pest Control, said that sanitization is best suited to inactivate the virus provided it is being carried out in a proper manner. “As of now we are implementing it at many place like Government offices, private firms, public places, flats and bungalows.
But it has been found that many ‘unprofessional’ players are also undertaking the task which is posing a big threat to human life,” he pointed out. Many unathorised people have entered in the field and executing it without proper knowledge of chemicals. Some of them randomly spraying pesticides without any recommendation.
They are unaware of the fact that spraying of some chemical is very harmful,” he added. It is very important to have right molecule while executing the work. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued list of products to be used for sanitization. It needs to be carried out by ULV (ultra low volume particles) misting disinfectant. One needs to take precautions like isolating the targeted area while doing the treatment. Apart form this, one needs to make sure that electronic gadgets and fire alarm are switched off during the process. Professionals like Sen are working hard to ensure right protection to the society and people around us.
