Special food cells set up for needy across State

To serve food to needy people stuck at different places, miles away from their homes in Chhattisgarh due to total lockdown imposed for coronavirus threat, special food cells have been set up by State Government across State under the directive of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. In this sequence, special food cell has been set up in Raipur district under the supervision of district magistrate Dr S Bharathi Dasan, SSP Sheikh Arif Husen and CEO Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh and RMC Commissioner Sourabh Kumar.
 
A landline number (0771-4055574) has been allotted for people who can dial and tell his or her requirement. Administrative officials, social organisations are coming forward to help the needy. Around 8,000 food packets are being distributed in Raipur everyday and various organisation are generously supporting to the district administration in the mission.
 
Around 70 social organisations and 2,000 volunteer are supporting the district administration. Food is being prepared and distributed while following all necessary guidelines. NGOs are being sought help in the work. RMC Control Room number is 0771-4320202. Meanwhile, Sikh Samaj Gurudwara coordinator Gurucharan Singh Hora said that ‘langar’ is being organised at 12 gurudwaras out of total 16 in Raipur. Food is being served twice a day at gurudwaras. Around 25,000 poor families of Raipur city would be provided with food items at Rs 600.
