POLICE arrested three for organising birthday party with considerable gathering of people in violation of directives issued for lockdown effected for checking spread of coronavirus infection. The accused were remanded to jail from the court. Police sources informed that the accused have been identified as Ratan Tandi (27) and Radheshyam Chhatreya (22), both residents of Model Town, Bhilai and Akar Sika (24), a resident of Dhamdhanaka, Durg.
 
The police said that at about 10 pm on Saturday, after information Smriti Nagar police post team rushed to the house of Ratan Tandi and arrested him with two other accused for organising the birthday party with considerable gathering of persons while flouting the directives issued for lockdown effected owing to spread of pandemic of COVID-19.
 
The police also said that when arrested the accused Ratan Tandi along with two other accused has organised the party while playing loud music in open violation of directives. The police arrested the accused and registered offence against them under sections 188 and 34 of Indian Penal Code for indulging in the criminal act. Ajeet Yadav, CSP, Bhilai Nagar Police Sub-division informed that the accused along with others indulged in the criminal acts and organised the party in violation of directives issued with lockdown effected to check the spread of the pandemic.
 
The accused were sent to jail on judicial remands from the court. The police are maintaining vigil all around for strictly effecting the lockdown and no one would be exempted of punitive measures if found violating the directives until lockdown in effect. The police repeatedly appealed the populace to abide by directives for their own well being and unsuspecting family members along with in interest of nation.
