The Chief Minister interacted with vegetable vendors and buyers near the inter-state bus stand in Ravanbhata and inquired about the prices and sales of vegetables 
 
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday set out on the streets of the capital to take stock of the availability of essential commodities, food grains and evaluate the fair prices during the lockdown. The Chief Minister interacted with vegetable vendors and buyers near the inter-state bus stand in Ravanbhata and inquired about the prices and sales of vegetables. After this, the Chief Minister reviewed the control room and emergency food supply cell for supply of food grains to the needy, destitute and helpless people at Indoor Stadium near Budha Talab.
 
The Food Supply Cell, working under the guidance of district administration with the help of voluntary organisations, is working 24 hours and distributing ready made food to the needy people. About 140 voluntary organisations and about 5,000 volunteers are engaged in this arrangement. Vegetable vendors informed that there is a wholesale market in the Science College ground and they bring and sell vegetables from there. Potato, onion in the mandi is around Rs 30/kg and vegetable prices have also come down.
 
It is noteworthy that the closure of the disorganised and crowded markets of Tikrapara, Santoshi Nagar, Nandi Check and Bhantagaon of Raipur has led to the closure of a new inter-state bus stand. Social distancing maintenance tax is being imposed on the campus. In the control room of the Indoor Stadium, the officials and employees affirmed in the conversation that arrangements for food etc. are being made as soon as any information is received. Kits of ration materials are also being prepared from donors which will be distributed to the needy people and workers. Masks are being prepared by the Self Help Groups under the National Livelihood Mission and are distributed. He said that from tomorrow, distribution of 2 months of rice from ration shops will commence.
 
The Chief Minister has appealed to the people or workers from Chhattisgarh who have gone to other states, that wherever they are, all arrangements for them will be ensured through the local district administration. He also appealed to the people to follow the lockdown and stay in their own houses. They will continue to have all the necessary materials. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Dr S Bharatidasan and SP Sheikh Arif Husen, Commissioner Raipur Municipal Corporation Saurabh Kumar, CEO District Panchayat Dr Gaurav Singh were also present. Officials said that a special food cell has been set up for beggars, destitute, needy, daily wage laborers, retarded people and people who cannot go out for livelihood. A large network of food has been prepared and its reach has been made to every end of the city. The biggest thing is that voluntary organizations, service organizations and citizens are also coming forward and helping in this task.
 
Control rooms have been set up in all the 8 zones of the Municipal Corporation, which are marking the families who are not having ration card or are having inconvenience in getting food grains or families who do not have ration card or are rationed due to any reason. In order to help such families, 15,000 packets of food grains are being prepared so that their needs can be met.
