City doctor postpones wedding to help in fight against COVID-19

Dr Sanika Dilip Kalambe and Aniket Ghate had their wedding planned well in advance. All preparations were done for it. But, they have decided that they will put duty first and will help in the fight against coronavirus disease. Dr Sanika and Aniket’s families decided to support their decision as they understood that it was for a great cause.
 
The weeding that was supposed to take place on March 29 and the reception party on March 30 were postponed till the situation improves. Dr Sanika is serving as Assistant Professor and Head of ENT Department of Shalinitai Meghe Hospital and Research Centre, Wanadongri. She is regularly visiting her hospital where she is treating patients during this infectious crisis. Dr Sanika is a daughter of Dilip Kalambe and Anuplata Kalambe. Her marriage was scheduled at Anusaya Mangal Karyalaya and. Even the invitation letters were printed.
 
That was when the coronavirus pandemic started spreading in the state. “It is an alarming crisis that we doctors must have to understand and behave as per the requirement. Keeping the situation in mind me and Aniket both have decided to postpone our marriage,” said Dr Sanika. “I am belong to a non-medical family background even my in-laws are also have no medical background. Still they support me and Aniket for this decision,” said Dr Sanika. According to her father, Dilip Kalambe said, “It was a tough decision for both families because all preparations were done from our sides. But, we supported her decision at this time of crisis.” Dr Sanika’s elder brother and sister-in-law are also doctors who also supported her for this decision.
