Baghel thanks CMs for providing assistance to CG labourers

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has extended his gratitude to Chief Ministers of all States where labourers and workers from Chhattisgarh were stranded due to lockdown. The CMs were thanked for providing necessary assistance to the labourers and workers. In his letters to all Chief Ministers, Baghel said that he came to know about the fast assistance provided to labourers and other people from Chhattisgarh stranded in various States by respective district administrations. Extending his gratitude, he said that he hopes that due to their help, the people from Chhattisgarh will not face any problems.
 
The Chief Minister, in his letter to all Chief Ministers, said that his Government has also taken effective steps towards providing necessary assistance to the people of Chhattisgarh workers, labourers and other people from different states stranded in Chhattisgarh due to lockdown. He said that for addressing the problems pertaining to health and other daily requirements faced by common people, State Government has established control rooms in the capital and in every district head-quarters. Also two months’ advance ration has been allocated to BPL ration card holders apart from ensuring continuous supply of essential commodities including food, vegetables and medicines.
 
The food and transport department is carrying out round the clock monitoring to ensure these facilities and maintain supply chain. Baghel also informed that Secretary (Labour) Sonmoni Borah has been appointed State Nodal Officer for looking into the problems being faced by workers and labourers working under organiSed and unorganiSed sectors due to crisis situation arising out of COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Secretary (Labour) as State Nodal Officer, has been made responsible for coordination with other states so as to ensure proper lodging and fooding facilities for workers, labourers and other people from Chhattisgarh stranded in other states and as well as such people from other states stranded here in Chhattisgarh. Accordingly, the Labour department has issued Helpline Nos: 0771-2443809, 91098-49992 and 75878-22800, while Deputy Commissioners (Labour) S L Jangde (Mob: 94253-46562) and Savita Mishra (Mob: 94252-30019) have been authorized for contact. The Chief Minister in his letters to Chief Minister have urged them to provide necessary assistance including lodging and fooding to workers, labourers and other people stranded in various districts in their respective states. He also urged the Chief Ministers to exchange contact numbers of authorized personnel in respective districts and states with officials from Chhattisgarh so that proper coordination can be established.
