They have no source to earn amid the lockdown. Administration and NGOs are providing food and other essential commodities to the needy across city. The Gurudwara started serving langar to citizens from the very next day of lockdown imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Initially, the Gurudwara served a little number of people in Pachpaoli. Now, as news about langar seva spread like a wild fire, the Gurudwara is getting requests for food packets from every corner of the city including Pardi, Chuna Bhatti, Wadi, Wardhamna, Hingna, Koradi, Medical Square.

“We planned to serve 25 to 50 kg food to needy in Pachpaoli. But due to tremendous response, we are serving over 15,000 needy every day during the lockdown,” said a volunteer of Gurudwara while talking to ‘The Hitavada’. For this noble cause, city police is also helping the Gurudwara committee for serving food packets at different parts of the city. “Coronavirus crisis gave us an opportunity to serve the society, and helped us develop positive thoughts to face the deadly pandemic,” said the volunteer. Volunteers of the Gurudwara are working from 7 am to 10 pm regularly. “We will continue our service till end of the lockdown and if we get a chance then we may continue thereafter,” he added. “We are taking care of hygiene and social distancing also while undertaking langar seva and preparing, packing food. We distributed masks, sanitizers and gloves to every volunteer to maintain hygiene and avoid any infectious during the current outbreak of COVID-19,” he added.
