Many samaritans have come forward to lend their support in the tough time of lockdown due to corona spread. Like many others, villagers of Kajlas village, near Eintkhedhi Chhap, are also volunteering in the food distribution done on Bhopal Indore- Highway. A theatre artist cum social worker Bhavna Singh is bridging the gap between these villagers, willing to volunteer, and the needy with her NGO Group-Yuva, which is running ‘Food for All’ campaign.

It all started weeks before lockdown, when villagers and other NGO volunteers began spreading awareness about the COVID-19 threats and necessary precautionary measures. Immediately after lockdown, the group has been distributing food to the needy people, from Khajuri Sadhak to Civil Hospital. Bhavna Singh has adopted more than four villages, and works for the employability, education, sanitation, environment and employability, in these villages.

The artist, herself, is living in the village from last five years. She has also started her own repertory, ‘Gram Rang’ which gives opportunity to the villagers to hone their theatrical skills. Along with distributing food to the needy people, and the policemen who are working 24 hours, volunteers are also making face masks in the sewing workshop, run by the group.
