NMC sets up ‘Corona War Room’ at its headquarters

Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has set up ‘Corona War Room’ at its Civil Lines headquarters. Tukaram Mundhe, Municipal Commissioner, held a meeting of Health Department officials at the war room on Thursday and said that though the facility was set up to respond to COVID-19 outbreak, it would continue to function to strengthen NMC’s health machinery. As per the official press release issued by NMC on Thursday, the ‘Corona War Room’ was set up around a week ago at the initiative of Mundhe. The plans for measures taken by the administration, implementation of plan, devising strategy to combat COVID-19 etc were all chalked out in the war room.
 
NMC receives information from Corona Control Room, COVID-19 mobile phone application, containment survey, survey of high-risk individuals, rapid response team, State and Central Governments. This information is discussed and then action plan is prepared at 9.30 pm daily. Mundhe interacts with a team of doctors in this regard. NMC press release quoted Mundhe as saying that NMC administration was putting in all the effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The role of war room will be important in this fight against COVID-19. The war room will continue functioning even after COVID-19 outbreak, to strengthen the health machinery of the civic body.
