President of India Ram Nath Kovind and Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu hailed the preventive measures being taken by Chhattisgarh Government to contain coronavirus pandemic in State. President Ram Nath Kovind along with Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday held a video-conference with the Governors, Lieutenant Governors and Administrators of states and union territories. President discussed ways to contribute to the measures taken by Government of India and Chhattisgarh Government in response to outbreak of COVID-19. Governor Anusuiya Uikey informed President that she discussed with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur Director to know actual position of patients in State and she was informed that the health conditions of the patients are improving.
 
Nine people have been found corona positive in the State so far, in which three patients were discharged from the hospitals after treatment. 1,232 people’s samples for COVID-19 have been collected in State so far, in which 921 people’s reports were found negative. Around 11,000 people from different counties have returned to Chhattisgarh. Screenings of over 20,000 people were held at the airport. Around 48,113 people have been kept in home isolation. 71 quarantine centres have been set up in State where there are 1,232 beds, Governor added.
 
The Governor informed that around 5,000 volunteers of the Indian Red Cross Society have been identified in State, in which 944 volunteers are actively imparting their services in the state at present to contain coronavirus outbreak. Around 12,000 migrant labourers from Chhattisgarh are stuck in 21 different states. Chhattisgarh Government has established co-ordination with these states to provide help to these labourers. 355 relief camps have been set up in Chhattisgarh where around 10,000 migrant labourers have been stayed.
 
Around 48,000 people have been kept in isolation in schools and community halls situated outside of the villages, informed the Governor. Rs 22,98,550 was provided financial assistance for wage of 15 days to the labourers of some organisations. 42 clinics are functional through ECI in the state, in which 8,864 labourers have been provided treatment and medicines are being distributed. Uikey also informed the President about various welfare measures being taken by the state government to contain the spread of coronavirus outbreak.
