‘Extend all facilities to labourers passing through State on foot’

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed district collectors to extend maximum facilities to labourers, who are passing through Madhya Pradesh to reach other states on foot. Chouhan issued directives through video conferencing to make food and shelter arrangement for labourers reaching different districts of the state from other states and arrangement of transport for their further journey. The State Government has also discussed with the officials of the concerned states as regard to facilitate comfortable journey of these labourers to their home states.
 
Chouhan said that while understanding with full sensitivity the problem of a large number of people traveling on foot, they should be welcomed as guests in the districts and necessary facilities should be provided to them. He told the collectors to provide relief to the labourers to make them feel comfortable and happy. Chief Minister Chouhan said that competent officer in each district should be entrusted with the responsibility of providing facilities to these labourers.
 
Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains informed that the system of transport of workers has been strengthened by increasing the co-ordination among the districts. It was informed in the meeting that continuous dialogue and arrangements are being made with the states of Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand for providing facilities to the labourers. Director General of Police Vivek Johri and other officials were present at the video conferencing.
