Puglia’s schools, mill employees donate Rs 4.19 lakh to CM’s fund

FORMER MP and senior trade union leader Naresh Puglia has donated handsomely to the Chief Minister Relief Fund (Covid-19) through his educational institutions and union. The workers of Ashti Paper Mill and employees of five different schools running under chairmanship of Naresh Puglia donated a sum of Rs 4.19 lakh for the cause of fight against coronavirus pandemic. The teachers working with various schools run by Puglia contributed their one day’s salary for the cause and the sum thus collected was donated to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund by a delegation led by Youth Leader Rahul Puglia and Principals of the schools.
 
Indira Gandhi Garden School in Chandrapur contributed a sum of Rs 41,000 for the fight against Covid-19. New English High School in Chandrapur and Pandharkawda and Shri Balaji High School, Bamni, collectively donated Rs 54,000, whereas Ideal English Medium School in Ballarpur contributed Rs 10,000 for the cause. The paper mill workers have contributed their one day’s salary amounting to Rs 3.13 lakh. The workers of Ashti Paper Mill is shut since over three years but none of its labourers have lost their job. Some of these workers are working at Ballarpur Paper Mill.
 
The paper mill workers positively stepped out to contribute for the cause and gave their one day’s salary to CM’s Fund. Earlier, Naresh Puglia in his individual capacity and through his institutions, trusts as well as through various workers’ union in different units in the district had contributed Rs 65.95 lakh to CM’s Relief Fund.
 
The delegation that met District Collector to submit the cheques of donations included District Congress General Secretary Adv Avinash Thawri, CMC corporator, Trade Union leader Virendra Arya, Gajanan Diwse, Anil Tungidwar, Principal of Indira Gandhi Bawani Jaikumar, Administrator Jaykumar, Administrator of Ideal English Medium School Krishnan Nayar, Ramdas Wagdarkar, Principal of New English School, Harishar Bhandwalkar, teacher Anita Bobde and teachers from other schools.
