CM transfers Rs 451 cr to PMAY beneficiaries

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan transferred a sum of Rs 451 crore to 1,78,417 beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Rural by a single click from Mantralaya on Thursday. This includes Rs 360 crore to 1,44,152 beneficiaries as the first installment for house building at the rate of Rs 25,000 each. A sum of Rs 91 crore was transferred to 34,265 beneficiaries as second, third and fourth installment. Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development, Manoj Shrivastava was also present.
 
Pucca house is everyone’s dream: While interacting with the beneficiaries through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said that everyone dreams of owning a pucca house. The PMAY aims at making it a reality. Under this, 60 per cent of the housing cost is shared by central government and 40 per cent by state governments. A sum of Rs 1,20,000 is provided to a beneficiary in installments. Besides, an additional amount of Rs 12,000 is provided for construction of toilet. Moreover, wage is also paid under MNREGA for the labour contributed in house construction. So far, 18.85 lakh people have been benefited under the scheme, of which 15.94 lakh have already completed their houses.
 
Beneficiaries thank CM: During the interaction through video conferencing the beneficiaries profusely thanked the Chief Minister for this assistance. They included Dhannalal of Badwani district, Anantram of Bhind, Madan Bharti of Dewas, Badri Dhakad of Guna, Pancham Singh of Gwalior, Shyamlal, Khuman Singh of Mandsaur, Maithilisharan Namdev of Shahdol, Dwarika Bai, Chhote, Kallu of Sheopur, Lakhan, Kallu of Shivpuri, Sawailal Baiga, Ramlal Baiga of Singrauli, Babulal, Purandas of Ujjain, Yuvraj Uike, Munesh of Betul. Local MLAs were also present with the beneficiaries, who informed about progress of the scheme to the CM.
