Five more positive cases take city’s COVID-19 figure to 162

Five persons, including a 3-year-old girl, tested positive for Covid-19 till Thursday evening bringing the total number of patients to 162. However, with recovery of 79 persons, the number of active cases remained 83 in Jabalpur. On Thursday afternoon, one person, 34-year-old G D Salem from Sarvoday Nagar, Ranital, tested positive. Salem serves in a door-to-door garbage collection company and came in contact with an infected person, Kaleb of the same area. On Thursday, only one, out of 78 samples, tested positive in the report issued from ICMR.
 
The sample belonged to 3-year-old Sharanya, daughter of Jakariya, a resident of Sarvoday Nagar, who himself was found positive three days back. Three out of 34 reports issued from Medical College-based Virology Lab, were found positive for Covid-19. The three positive samples belonged to 42-year-old Easteramma, 43-year-old Y Victoria and 34-year-old P Anok from Sarvoday Nagar, Ranital. Easteramma belongs to the family of Chinna Babu who was earlier found infected with Covid-19, Y Victoria is the mother of Kaleb who was infected earlier while P Anok is the cousin of G D Salem who tested positive on Thursday morning only. Whereas, four persons, including a radiographer and a teacher, were found positive in the ICMR report issued late on Wednesday night.
 
 
14 discharged after being cured Fourteen persons discharged from isolation unit of Super Specialty Hospital, NSCB Medical College and Hospital after completely recovering from Covid-19 on Thursday. Discharge of these six persons took the number of recovered persons in Jabalpur upto 79. Those who were discharged included Raisa Begum, Fardeen, Shahadat, Nasruddin, Akeel, Sheikh Jaleel, Surendra Soni, Alkama Anjum, Mohammed Rashid, Mahek Rathore, Nusrat Jahan, Mohammed Mustkeen, Sanowar Jahan and Shivani Rathore. All these persons have been appealed to remain in 14-day home quarantine. 
 
Chandni Chowk zone divided into 4 areas Looking at present conditions in Chandni Chowk containment zone, Collector Bharat Yadav has issued an amended order disintegrating the area into four smaller zones. Apart from that, Yadav has also declared Saif Nagar as a containment zone. It may be mentioned that Chandni Chowk was declared as containment zone on April 21, its original zone number 8 will remain the same. The district administration has divided the area into four smaller zones in view of convenience and necessary arrangements. CEO, Smart City, Ashish Pathak has been made Incident Commander of these four containment zones. CSP Garha Akhilesh Gaur has been made Nodal Officer of Police, Assistant Commissioner, Vedprakash has been made Nodal office of JMC, Dr D Mohanty is made Nodal Officer of health team and Assistant Commissioner Sambhav Ayachi has been made Nodal Officer of Control Room. Apart from that, Noori Nagar and part of Saif Nagar under Rabindranath Tagore ward have been included under the new containment zone Saif Nagar. SDM Adhartal, Rishabh Jain has been made Incident Commander of the area. Nodal officers have been bestowed with responsibility to restrict movement under Containment area, ensure residents stay in home quarantine, undertake continuous screening at exit point, ensure supply of necessary things in the zone etc.
