Union Sports Minister, Kiren Rijiju has applauded the efforts of Wushu Association as a major contributor in Fit India Movement by organising National Online Wushu Competition during lockdown period, on Friday. Wushu players have won a large number of international medals and brought laurels to India. Central Wushu Academy has been established and new Wushu Academies will be soon established in different states.
 
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of National Online Wushu Championship and praised the efforts of international gold medallist from Jabalpur, Krishnika Gupta who gave superb demonstration and attracted guests and players. During the online inaugural ceremony, International Wushu Association Secretary, Jheng Quiping, Indian Olympic Association President, Narendra Dhruv Batra, Wushu Association of India President, Bhupinder Singh Bajwa, Secretary, Jitendra Singh Bajwa, CEO Suhail Ahmed and others were present. Krishnika demonstrated Wushu Art Taulu under supervision of MP Wushu Association’s Technical Director, Manoj Gupt and Secretary, Sarika Gupta. Around 750 players are participating in Taulu event under National Wushu Competition.
