In the fight against coronavirus, hand sanitisers have emerged as an essential item in market. it is only after stringent checks and restrictions that its black marketing could be stopped. The administration has fixed the price to Rs.0.50 piece per ml. However with iinclusion of hand sanitiser in cottage industry and small industries, its quality standards are not fixed. Following this inclusion, a large number of manufacturers are now in market due to which quality and pricing has become mismatched in market. The quality of production should be checked and sold on standard pricing as per quality.

A huge stock of hand sanitisers are also distributed by the social and voluntary organisations for free to support front line corona warriors and also in public. Collector Bharat Yadav assured that continuing checking drive on availability of quality hand sanitisers in market is under way and quality of hand sanitisers being Jabalpur Druggists and Chemists’ Association President, Sudhir Bhatija said, “The association has issued a circular to members to follow guidelines issued in the Drug and Food Control Order.

For quality, manufacturer prepares as per recommendations of World Health Organisation that is 70 to 75 per IsoPropale Alcohal base sanitisers while in Ethenol-based, it should have 80 to 83 per cent ethanol and that is called effective quality. We have appeal to shop owners not to sell hand sanitisers below WHO guidelines.”
