NUPETA requests start of sports, fitness activities

THE Nagpur University Physical Education Teachers Association (NUPETA) has requested State government for relaxation to sportspersons and senior citizens in performing their fitness activities during this period of lockdown. NUPETA delegation, led by Dr Arvind Joshi, Vice-Principal, Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi, met State Sports Minister Sunil Kedar and submitted a memorandum requesting him to allow morning walkers, sportspersons to do their physical fitness at various grounds and sports complexes. They claimed that various tournaments are lined up in the coming season and sportspersons need to start training to keep themselves fit.
 
They requested the minister to allow the sportspersons who are not associated with contact sports, to do fitness activities and training from 5 to 8 am and 5 to 8 pm. Minister Kedar assured best possible help after consulting with the concerned departments. The memorandum was also given to MLA Vikas Thakre, NMC Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, Addl Commissioner Ram Joshi and Mayor Sandip Joshi. The delegation included Dr Vijay Datarkar, Dr Arvind Joshi, Dr Devendra Wankhede, Dr Sanjay Chaudhary, Dr Surendra Tiwari, Dr Bablu Shrigiriwar and others.
