JMC appeals residents to abide by preventive measures or else penalised

Reportedly, the Health Ministry have asserted that owing to severity caused due to COVID-19 people will have to learn to live with the virus with mandatory preventive steps of social distancing, use of face mask and to keep ones surrounding optimally clean. Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) in tune with district administration have taken up the responsibility to make people, abide by the preventive steps or else would be severely penalised.
 
As a person found spitting in public place would be subjected to spot fine of Rs 1,000 while found without mask would be imposed penalty ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 250 and to ensure optimal implementation the JMC have vested upon 80 officers of JMC in the cadre of additional commissioners, deputy commissioners, superintending engineers and many others.
 
According to information, with the fourth phase of lockdown enforced from May 18, has made the civic administration to remain highly vigilant to check cases of gross violation of preventive steps of using face mask, unwarrantedly making places unclean in lockdown period by spitting at random. The objective behind the stern steps is to make people aware and conscious of the fact .'
