THE Department of Physical Education and Sports, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, will be organising 10-day online Webinar on ‘Making of Champions’. The theme of Webinar will be on how to make champions after the lockdown ends and how to overcome the obstacles while making the champions. The Webinar will begin from Friday and will continue till June 7 in two categories of A-B and C-D between 11 am and 12.15 pm.
 
The C and D categories sessions will be held from June 3 to 7. All the participants will get online participation certificates, informs Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Department of Physical Education and Sports, RTMNU. The Webinar will be inaugurated by city’s international table tennis player Mallika Bhandarkar at 11 am. Dr Suraj Yevtikar, member, Physical Education and Sports Council, will be the chief guest. Dr Sharad Suryawanshi will make the introductory remark. Dr Sonali Shirbhate, Director, Sports Department, Priyadarshini Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Wardha and Dr Sharda Naidu, Incharge Principal, Ishwar Deshmukh Sharirik Shikshan Mahavidyalaya, will conduct the sessions.
 
The Webinar will be attended by several Principals, coaches of Universities, colleges from all over India. Former Director and Member, Board of Sports and Physical Education, RTMNU Dr Dhananjay Welukar will speak on ‘finer point and my experience’ from May 29 to June 3, 2020. From May 30 to June 4, Dr Jaiprakash Dubale, Joint Director, Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra, will be the resource person and will speak on ‘college students’ participation in sports: A challenge’.
 
From May 31 to June 5, senior journalist and experienced athletics statistician Naresh Shelke will guide the participants on ‘branding of champions’. From June 1 to 6, renowned sports physiotherapist Kevin Agrawal will talk on ‘injury free sport’ while from June 2 to 7, sports nutritionist Meghna Kumre will put her views on how to ‘increase performance through diet’. The closing ceremony of Group A and B will be held on June 2 while that of Group C and D will be held on June 7. On the occasion, Dr Vishakha Joshi, member, Nagpur University Physical Education Teachers Association will be the chief guest. Former international handball player Bhavna Bhotmange, Shiv Chhatrapati award winner, will be the special guest. Dr Madhvi Mardikar, Convenor, PGTD, RTMNU will deliver the closing remarks. The closing session will be conducted by Dr Sanjay Chaudhari of SBCT College while Dr Amit Tembhurne, RM Patel College, Sakoli, will proposed a vote of thanks. A committee under the guidance of Dr Suryawanshi has been formed for smooth conduct of the Webinar. The other members of committee are Dr Chaudhari (organising secretary), Dr Tembhurne (technical), Dr Sonali Kshirbhate, Dr Aditya Soni, Dr Ramchandra Rao, Dr Sudhir Sahare and Dr Pravin Kumar.
