Road and Transportation Office (RTO) has started working for general license and other vehicle related work. On first day hardly four to five people with online slot booking reached to the office. RTO Sanjay Tiwari informed that routine work is being done till 2 pm only and sanitiser has been placed at several corners for facility of employees and visitors too.
 
Chairs have been also removed from all departments to drive off the crowd of people. As RTO office is in Red zone, it was closed from March 22. He said only 50 per cent applications are being accepted for license. Social distancing, face mask, hand sanitiser has been made mandatory for all. Entire work in the office is being held through online mode. The department is accepting tax and fee through digital mode.
 
In a notification released by RTO Commissioner, it has been announced that due to COVID-19 offices were closed. Currently, only digital mode of payment is being accepted in all departments. Registration of new vehicle will be accepted through VID only. Besides, only 50 per cent slot is being given to the applicants for learning license and 70 per cent applicants get slot for vehicle fitness and renewal. The department has asked employees and visiting people to follow social distancing intact and use face mask on mandatory basis.
