Van Vihar National Park reopens with 143 visitors on first day

Van Vihar National Park was reopened for visitors on Monday after staying closed over two months in the lockdown period. Visitors were eagerly waiting for the reopening of park for morning walk. In order to minimise the risk of infection, the park has started online tickets for visitors. According to Van Vihar officials, first day there were 143 people visited the park in morning shift. Though authorities have allowed to restart tourism activities in national parks but reiterated to follow the safety guidelines intact. The time of the park will be as 6.30 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6.30 pm.
 
Entry of children below ten years and senior citizen above 65 years is strictly prohibited. The park officials said that it will be mandatory for all visitors to follow the safety protocols. Thermal screening of visitors will be held at the entrance gate and people found with normal temperature will be allowed to enter the park. Face mask, hand sanitisation, social distancing and other guidelines of Government to stay safe from COVID-19 pandemic will be mandatory for tourist inside the park premises.
 
Reports state that all tiger reserves and national parks were reopened for tourist from June 15 and buffer zone of reserves will remain open during monsoon too. Deputy Director of Van Vihar A K Jain said, “we are set to reopen the park for visitors with all safety guidelines. Thermal screening will be held for all at the entrance gate and suspected would not be allowed to enter.
