Van Vihar Park proposes to increase tourist slot

Tourist influx at Van Vihar National Park is rising gradually. Concerned over the enthusiasm of people, Van Vihar has sought permission from Government to extend the maximum slot of each day by 600. The park officials said that number of tourist slot will be increased only after the Government gives final nod. The park was reopened for tourist on June 22 after staying closed over two months in the lockdown period.
 
On first day there were 143 visitors in the park that gave revenue of Rs 5,647 to the park while on second day there were 299 tourists with revenue of Rs 12,783. Visitors were eagerly waiting for the reopening of park for morning walk. In order to minimise the risk of infection, the park has started online tickets for visitors.
 
Though authorities have allowed to restart tourism activities in national parks but reiterated to follow the safety guidelines intact. The time of the park is 6.30 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6.30 pm. Entry of children below ten years and senior citizen above 65 years is strictly prohibited. The park officials said that it is mandatory for all visitors to follow the safety protocols. Thermal screening of visitors is being held at the entrance gate and people found with normal temperature are allowed to enter the park.
