Crocodile drags man into Kaliasot dam, kills him

A 28-year-old man, who had gone for fishing at Kaliasot dam, was dragged underwater and killed by a crocodile on Wednesday night. According to police officials, the man was drunk when he entered the water on Wednesday night at around 12:05 am. His body was fished out by BMC divers on Thursday afternoon. The corpse was found with more than 100 crocodile bites.
 
The deceased was identified as Pratap Sahay, a security guard at Sarguja Estate. His cousin told the police that the deceased was aware of the threat of crocodiles around. But on Wednesday, in a drunken state he entered the waters.
 
Due to low visibility he asked his cousin to fetch him a torch. As his cousin left, he was dragged underwater by a crocodile. When the cousin failed to find him he informed others. The family of the deceased reached and found clothes and shoes of the victim at the bank and informed the police about the matter at around 5 am.
