The BSNL employees on Friday staged a protest over the delay in allotment of 4G spectrum to the BSNL at Fafadih Office.

Circle Secretary R S Bhatt stated that Union Government, on October 23, 2019, had announced a revival plan of Rs 69,000 crore for BSNL, but nothing constructive has been done even after ten months. Rather, 80,000 employees were laid off on the pretext of revival, which is causing difficulties in maintaining the telecommunication services.
BSNL’s present and retired employees aren’t their due payments. The 4G service is crucial for the revival of BSNL and the delay in allotment of the 4G spectrum is directly benefitting the private operators. Bhatt alleged it is some sort of conspiracy to keep BSNL off the 4G market.

Bhatt accused BSNL Management of being insensitive towards the employees. There is no cashless treatment facility available for the employees even during the pandemic. Rather, the management is taking away medical facility. Employees are also stressed out from non-transmission of PLI premium and deduction of the society. Contract workers haven’t been paid with the wages for one year and they are being retrenched en masse. There is an unprecedented delay in Group Term Insurance implementation and JTO license relaxation. In short, BSNL Management isn’t resolving any issues of non-executive employees. BSNL Employees as Deepak Kumar Singh, Pramod Kumar Verma, Mahesh Borkar, VD Galfade, Ashok Kumar Agrawal, RR Patel, Vijay Shrivastava, JeebanDev, Anita, Chandrika and Rampyari etc took part in the protest held during lunchtime.
