To stay connected with each other during burglary, the gang-members were using walkie-talkies. The objective of using walkie-talkies was to evade being tracked by police,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shaikh Arif Husen.

The SSP further informed that the arrested burglars were identified as Sahil kaushaliya (18), a resident of Telibandha; Sachin Tandon (18), of Tikrapara; Subham Sen (19), a resident of new Rajendra Nagar; and Rohit Mukherjee (21) of Purani Basti. The estimated market value of the seized valuables will be around Rs 7 lakh.
Shedding more details about the case, SSP Husen said that in the wake of burglaries recently reported in separate locations of Raipur under New Rajendra Nagar, Purani Basti and Mujgahan police station limits, a special team was constituted to crack the cases.

Based on information gathered through the analysis of CCTV footages and informers, police learnt that Sahil Kaushaliya and his friends have taken houses on rents following which his face was subjected for recognition.
As the face was matched with some footages, Sahil Kaushaliya was detained and subjected to interrogation. “During interrogation, the accused admitted to committing burglaries and also spilled the names of other gang members. Based on inputs collected from the accused, police made the recovery,” added SSP.
