After family member of a guard at Van Vihar National Park found COVID-19 positive, the park gate no 2 was closed for the tourists on Saturday. The park’s gate no 2 (towards Sair Sapata) will remain closed for tourists till further order and visitors will be allowed in limited number only front gate no 1 which is towards Boat Club. Van Vihar was reopened for visitors on June 22 after three-month lockdown which brought laurels to people especially morning walkers.
 
On June 25, a guard deployed on gate no 2 informed to the management over phone that his spouse is COVID-19 positive and health department has taken sample of entire family for further testing. On June 26, the guard again informed that his entire family members are COVID-19 positive. The guard is also sent to Chirayu Medical Hospital for further quarantine purpose.
 
The park management sent all guards and employees for home quarantine who were deployed on duty with COVID-19 patient in morning soft. Health Department has been also informed about the guards who were deployed on duty with him. Concerned over the situation, the park management has decided to keep the gate no 2 where the guard was deployed closed for tourist with immediate effect. Visitors will be allowed to enter the park from gate no one and time will be 6:30 to 12:00 and 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
