VAN Vihar National Park is trying to contact those tourists who had visited the park from June 22 to 26 after the park was reopened. The park management swung into action after a guard deployed on duty tested COVID-19 positive. Other guards and employees who were deployed on duty with the patient have been sent on quarantine.

About 1,000 people who visited the park from June 22 to June 26 and all of them had entered from gate no 2 where the COVID-19 patient was deployed. Deputy Director of Van Vihar Ashok Jain said, “We are trying to contact the visitors who had visited the park during the period. People who had visited the park from June 22 to 26 have been suggested to self quarantine and get tested for COVID-19.” Van Vihar was reopened for visitors on June 22 after three months’ lockdown which brought a big smile for people, especially morning walkers.

On June 25, a guard deployed on gate no 2 informed on phone that his spouse has tested COVID-19 positive and the Health Department has taken sample of entire family for further tests. On June 26, the guard again informed that he too had tested positive. The park management sent all guards on home quarantine who were deployed on duty with him. The Health Department was informed about the entire case. Concerned over the situation, the park management has decided to keep gate no 2 closed for visitors where the corona patient was deployed.
