 Shaikh Arif Husen, a 2005-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Chhattisgarh cadre on Tuesday assumed full-time responsibility of Director, State Anti-Corruption Bureau and Economic Offence Wing (SACBEOW). Earlier, Husen handed over the charge of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raipur to his successor Ajay Yadav, a 2004-batch IPS officer. When Husen assumed the charge in his office, other senior officials of SACBEOW including SP EOW Sadanand Kumar, outgoing SP EOW Indira Kalyan Elesela, SP ACB Pankaj Chandra and other were also present. Later in his crisp interaction with The Hitavada soon after assuming the new responsibility, Husen, an expert of community policing, which has fetched him international awards and accolades, explained his plans and vision for a totally overhauled and revived function of SACBEOW and turn into a spear against the corrupt practices and individuals.
 
According to Husen, his main emphasis would be to launch a massive campaign in a bid to aware about highlighting corruption. “Only awareness and then reinforced swift action would help to end corruption,” he said, adding further, that he has already drafted elaborated plans to this effect. To a query, Husen duly underlined that he has already made inroads after hectic deliberations with his team to develop intelligence and prompt action to the complaints against corrupt individuals. “Swift action against big fishes would be the top priority and many are already under the scanner,” he maintained. Husen also asserted that efforts would be laid to bring logical end to pending cases, by speeding up the investigation process.
 
“Increasing productivity of the organisation by activating intelligence collection methods on corrupt individuals, incorporating latest know-how technology in synchronisation with the laid down procedures of law, reorientation of the rank and file particularly those to be engaged in real-time operations, establishing better communication mechanism, ensuring secrecy and many such initiatives are already in the pipeline,” he encapsulated. In his parting short, Husen wished to send a strong signal across. “Mend your ways because there would be no mercy on corrupt practices and individuals,” he warned.

IPS Ajay Yadav assumes charge as Raipur SP The 2004-batch officer of Indian Police Service (IPS) Ajay Yadav on Tuesday assumed as Raipur Superintendent of Police (SP). Interacting with media, SP Yadav said his focus will be on basic policing. On the occasion, the outgoing SSP of Raipur Shaikh Arif Husen, who assumed as fulltime Director, State Anti-Corruption Bureau and Economic Offences Wing, welcomed Yadav. Notably, in a reshuffle exercised by State Government on June 29, SSP Durg Ajay Yadav has been posted as Raipur SP, while SSP Raipur Husen has been given the fulltime responsibility of ACB and EOW as Director.
