Amidst prevention and control of prevention and control of novel coronavirus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday interacted with senior citizens staying in old-age homes in the state and enquired about their well-being. Through video-conferencing, the Chief Minister interacted with senior citizens staying at old-age homes in seven different districts in the state and enquired about their health, facilities being extended to them in old-age homes, about their short-comings.
 
He said due to COVID-19 pandemic massive change has taken place in day to day living of people and the most significant necessity today is to remain secure and safe. While interacting with the senior citizens the Chief Minister said it seems that today he is interacting with the seniors of his own family and that he is happy that they are doing well in old-age homes. When asked whether their family come to meet them, they replied with tears in eyes that sometimes they come to meet them.
 
During interaction with the senior citizens the Chief Minister asked about the sanitation and cleanliness of the old-age homes and enquired about their daily activities. He also enquired about the precautionary measures being taken in old-age homes regarding prevention and control for COVID-19 pandemic. The Chief Minister said senior citizens and children are more likely to get infected hence they should observe optimum precautions.
 
On the occasion senior citizens from various parts of the state staying in old-age homes interacted with the Chief Minister and informed about the facilities and care they get in old-age homes. Women, Child and Social Welfare Minister Anila Bhedia, Secretary Prasanna R and Director P Dayanand were present on the occasion.
